LOCATION - The location of Hampton on a New Hampshire map is on the East coast of New Hampshire, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Hampton is in Rockingham County.

 

GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES - Hampton has a bunch of geographical features. The Atlantic Ocean, Long Beach, Old River, Nudds Canal, Meadow Pond, Mill Pond, Hampton River, Hampton Harbor, and Car Barn Pond are all in Hampton. The Atlantic Ocean borders only a little part of NH and Hampton has a lot of it.

 

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS - There is a very big tourist attraction in Hampton. Hampton has about a mile long beach on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. You can also bring your bikes and go bike riding. The Regal Inn is a nice inn with a pool, jacuzzi, and two beds in each room. Parasailing is popular in Hampton.

 

POPULATION - The population of Hampton was 8,011 people in 1970, 10,493 people in 1980, 12,278 people in 1990, and 12,792 people in 1995.

BUSINESSES -Most of the businesses in Hampton are shops for Hampton Beach.

 

HISTORY - Hampton was originally settled in 1638, 345 years ago. Hampton was originally named Winnacunnet. It was originally settled by farmers and settled because of marshes. Hampton was one of the first four original towns in NH.
