Daniel French

Daniel French was born on December 12, 1828 in Exeter, New Hampshire. His full name is Daniel Chester French.

He went to school with his role model, Jose Clemente Orozco. He went to school at the Mass. Institute of Technology.

French grew up to be a sculptor. Some his famous works are the Minute Man in 1875, John Harvard in 1884, and his most famous piece of work is the sculpture of Lincoln that he made when he was 67. The big statue of Lincoln sits in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

On October 7, 1931 Daniel French died from old age. He died in Concord and was buried in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. He died when he was 103.
