Reading: Each student will be able to use a variety of strategies in order to develop an appreciation of reading and to create meaning from text.
Writing: Each student will understand and apply the writing process.
Math: Each student will explore mathematics as a way of thinking and become proficient in basic mathematical concepts, through concrete and authentic problem solving.
Science: Each student will be aware of scientific processes and will begin to use them to explore the natural world, enhancing and celebrating curiosity and wonder.

Teamwork Leadership: Each student will restate goals and tasks, recognize and assume different roles, and demonstrate the physical involvement and social skills necessary to work as an effective team member.
Effective Communicator: Each student will have an understanding of various modes of communication, and the opportunity to experience and use those modes across all curricular areas.
Computer/ Technology: Each student will be actively involved in the exploration of technological systems and processes, including computers.
Second Language: Each student will demonstrate an awareness of other countries and cultures while developing rudimentary skills in the areas of listening andspeaking in the target language.
Respect: Each student will demonstrate care and respect for self, others, and property, recognize the consequences of one's behavior and exhibit positive social skills in order to be a productive member of school and family.
Arts: Each student will have a variety of experiences in the fine and performing arts through active participation and experimentation.
Critical/Creative Thinker: Each student will explore problems and issues to discover the complexity of these challenges.
Responsibility: Each student will demonstrate honesty and responsibility and will recognize the consequences of these behaviors.
