What a great Thanksgiving lunch we had on Thursday. It is a so much fun to see the different grade levels eating together and to watch the fifth and sixth grade students help the younger students with their lunches. The staff also enjoy eating lunch with all of the different students and are amazed at how polite and considerate everyone is to each other. It also gets us in the mood for our own Thanksgiving dinners. I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe and restful Thanksgiving break. We will see you on Monday, November 30.
The third theme of the VOICES program, Conflict Resolutions, will begin in December. The 4th grade students introduced the theme to the entire school at our all-school meeting on Friday, November 20. The kindergarten students will be focusing on “How can we share and get along with each other?”, first grade will discuss “What are different ways to solve our problems with others?”, the second grade students are looking at “How can we resolve conflicts with those who seem more powerful than we are?”, third grade will ask “How can we solve conflicts in our lives?”, fourth grade classes will focus on “How can we solve problems in our communities?”, fifth grade students will discuss “What choices do we have in conflict?”, and sixth grade will as “How can we deal with teasing and exclusion?”
