The month of May is turning out to be a very busy month with field trips, the Children’s Stage Adventures, 6th Grade Sales, the book fair, etc.  You get the picture.  Because the month was so busy, we moved Bike Safety Day to June 5th, the first Friday in June.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is better than we have had for the past several years and we can ride in the sunshine instead of in the rain.  Please make sure you check the calendar for a full listing of all of the scheduled events for this month.

The fourth grade students will be taking the science portion of the NECAP assessments during the weeks of May 11 and 18.  Although only the fourth grade will be participating, we want all of the students to be aware of the testing that will be occurring especially when they are moving through the hallways.

I need to remind everyone again that the district policy requires you to submit a letter signed by a parent pertaining to a vacation that occurs during the academic year (other than regularly scheduled vacation weeks).  Students are responsible for making up all missed assignments.  In order that your child’s teacher has time to prepare your child’s assignments, please send the note in at least two weeks prior to the planned absence.

Thanks to the efforts of the PTCO, we again will be able to Host the Children’s Stage Adventures the week of May 4th.  Please hold May 9th and join us for their performance!

Spirit Week will be celebrated the week we return from vacation.  Tuesday, May 5 is Crazy Hair Day, Wednesday, May 6 is Sports Team Day and Thursday, May 7 is Hippie Day.
