Counselor Assignments

Students are assigned to a guidance counselor based on their last name. Students maintain the same counselor during their high school career, unless the student becomes a Region 9 Vocational student at which time they will be reassigned to the vocational counselor.

Students access their guidance counselor via the counseling office. Students simply ask the guidance secretary to schedule an appointment to see their counselor, a time is arranged and the student is given a pass to provide to their teachers. Students are encouraged to select a time that minimizes interruption to their courses, however, not all students have a study hall, therefore, students need to identify a "best" time based on what is happening in their current course work.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parents are encouraged to contact their student's teachers directly if they have a questions or concern about their student's progress. Parents are welcome to contact their student's counselor to discuss concerns about a student's progress and/or if needed, for the counselor to schedule a parent-teacher conference. Counselors will arrange a conference between parent and teachers, and usually are scheduled if possible, within a week of a request. Students are recommended to attend conferences.
